We’re sold the false idea that we can have it all, but turns out you can't have it all at the same time. So what do you want, right now? Each week I’ll ask a woman her top 10.
This week we hear from Justine, a French-American stay-at-home-parent of 10-year-old twins, currently seeking to return to work while continuing to write non-fiction and fiction, living in the Paris suburbs.
10 things Justine wants:Â
For my kids to be happy and thriving.
Find a job I enjoy again after being a stay-at-home mom for much longer than I had planned.
Finish writing a short (or long) story and submit it for publication.
A weekend (or week?) away with my husband.
Officially settle in the US or France, buy a house, and not move again for a long time.
Speak more Italian.
Read most of the books on my To Be Read list.
Volunteer at a memory care center.
A vacation with my dearest friends.
To get an appointment this year with a good dermatologist in Paris or where I live (why is it so hard?).
Justine, it is hard to get a derm appointment in the States, too. My clinic books four to six months out.
